On the occasion of the New Year – Year of the Snake 2024, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ba Chien, President of the Academy of Public Administration and Governance (APAG), extended the best Lunar New Year greetings to all public officials who have been and are working at APAG, along with APAG students and their families.

Greetings of Lunar New Year – Year of the Snake 2025 from the APAG President

On the occasion of the New Year – Year of the Snake 2025, I would like to extend my warmest greetings to all officials who have been and are working at APAG, as well as all students, trainees, and their families, wishing you the best for a prosperous and joyful new year!

The year 2024 has come to an end with meaningful emotions and important milestones for the National Academy of Public Administration (NAPA). It was a year when NAPA stabilized its operations after the merger of Hanoi University of Home Affairs into NAPA. It also marked the 65th anniversary of NAPA’s founding. NAPA leaders and officials have been determined and united to fulfill all set goals and tasks, and we have been recognized as a unit that has completed its tasks excellently. In particular, in line with Conclusion No. 09-KL/BCĐ dated November 24, 2024, at the first meeting of the Central Steering Committee on reviewing the implementation of Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW dated October 25, 2017, by the 12th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Viet Nam on “Some issues related to further innovation, and streamlining the organization of the political system for effective and efficient operation,” NAPA is planned to be merged with the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics (HCMA). Following Decision No. 55-QĐ/HVCTQG dated January 8, 2025, from the HCMA President, the National Academy of Public Administration (NAPA) has now been renamed the “Academy of Public Administration and Public Management” (APAG) to undertake a new mission and responsibility with a new political and legal status, closely aligned with the functions of HCMA. This will contribute significantly to training human resources for the Party, the State, the Viet Nam Fatherland Front, and political-social organizations; conducting research in leadership, management, public administration, state management, and public governance.

Entering 2025, APAG will continue to build upon its valuable tradition, solidarity, and creativity to complete important tasks in undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral education, academic research, technology transfer, international cooperation, policy consulting, and public service provision related to administration, state management, public governance, and legal matters, in accordance with the requirements of the Party, the State, the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, and the needs of society. In the joyful and excited atmosphere of spring, with renewed vigor and confidence, I am confident that, with the solidarity and dedication of all officials, we will build APAG into a sustainable, effective, and highly reputable institution in the fields of public administration and public governance.

As we welcome the Year of the Snake 2025, I would like to wish all generations of APAG public officials, students, and their families a new year full of health, happiness, and success!

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ba Chien

President of the Academy of Public Administration and Governance
